At Stratco, we believe the future of Australia’s building industry rests in the hands of today’s apprentices. That’s why we are proud to continue our partnership with the Housing Industry Association (HIA) in recognising and celebrating the state’s brightest emerging talent.
The 2025 HIA Apprentice Awards shine a spotlight on the skill, dedication, and determination of the next generation of builders. Stratco was honoured to sponsor the First Year Apprentice of the Year Award, reflecting our commitment to nurturing talent from the very beginning of their careers.
HIA South Australian Executive Director, Stephen Knight, praised this year’s apprentices as shining examples of professionalism and resilience, noting that “apprenticeships are not just entry points into the workforce - they are the foundations for leadership, business ownership, and lifelong careers in building.”
Celebrating South Australia’s Rising Stars
This year’s awards recognised five outstanding apprentices who are already making their mark on the industry:

Stratco’s Ongoing Commitment to Apprenticeships
Stratco has a long history of supporting apprentices across Australia, and sponsoring the First Year Apprentice of the Year Award aligns with our dedication to investing in the future of the trade. Apprenticeships don’t just provide technical training; they develop resilience, problem-solving skills, and the leadership qualities that ensure the continued strength of the construction industry.
Stratco is incredibly proud to support Eliza Wegner and celebrate her achievements, along with all of the other award winners and finalists. Each of them demonstrates the excellence and innovation that will carry the South Australian building industry into the future.
